Hotels

Despite its reputation as one of the seediest districts in Paris, Montmartre and the area surrounding the Moulin Rouge contain some of the best value hotels in the capital as well as a lively mix of restaurants, bars and clubs. Whilst it may not have quite managed to retain the bohemian air of its formative days, the relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere is a good fit for young travellers, budget visitors and couples looking for an affordable and exciting place to stay that is a reasonable distance from the main attractions that Paris has to offer. We’ve selected five of the best in the area to make choosing a hotel near the Moulin Rouge a cinch next time you’re in the city, with all of the below within walking distance of the theatre.

The hotel exists amid the labyrinthine streets of Montmartre and under the shadow of the stunning Sacre-Coeur, which is within a very short walking distance of the entrance. Le Chat Noir has free WiFi access in public areas, concierge and room service and a 24 hour front desk. Each of its quirky bedrooms come equipped with DVD players, air conditioning and tea and coffee facilities alongside all other mod cons. Comfortable and modern, the real pull of the hotel is its loyalty to the artistic and diverse roots of the surrounding area in aesthetic and attitude.
